It is hikers' best interest to educate themselves to the Sentier Nepisiguit Mi’gmaq Trail system. While hiking and camping on the trail, sections, access points, each hiker must be aware of the potential risks and hazards. This is a back country hiking trail. It is meant to be fun, relaxing and a means to be in touch with mindfulness and nature.
The trail is cleared and maintained to the best of the SNMT’s capability. It is clearly marked for ease of following. However, due to changing weather and wilderness conditions, we cannot guarantee that there will not be obstructions, from time to time. There is no cell service on the trail. Please be prepared.
It is essential that you be accompanied by an experienced hiker who knows the trail system well. It is also acceptable to use the trail if you are accompanied by a hiking guide, or certified hiking leader.
Registered Hikers are required to notify the Sentier Nepisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail office once they have exited the trail. Failure to report your departure may result in unnecessary search and rescue efforts by the RCMP and the Chaleur Ground Search and Rescue.

The registration fee of $15.00 is applied administration fees to process and monitor the hiking traffic on the Sentier Nepisiguit Mi'gmaq Trail.
